Michigan CardioVascular Institute
Starting at the Michigan CardioVascular Institute, runners will travel through Hoyt Park and will "run with the animals" in the nationally accredited Children's Zoo at Celebration Square. You will experience a gradual elevation change as you cross over the Saginaw River. This USATF-certified course will also take runners through Celebration Square, Old Town Business District, Wickes Park, picturesque Ojibway Island, and the Saginaw Riverwalk. Roads on the course will be closed entirely to allow racers safe passage.
On the day of the event, runners will line up at line up at the starting line at the offices of the Michigan CardioVascular Institute, just off Remington Street and Washington Avenue.
From there, the course follows an out-and-back route through the streets of Saginaw, first through the newly renovated Hoyt Park and then along an out-and-back stretch along Wickespark Drive, which runs alongside the Saginaw River.
Later stretches of the race unfold through Saginaw’s Old Town business district, Wickes Park and Rust Park, Celebration Square and Ojibway Island near the end of the race, as runners are making their way through the final mile along the Saginaw Riverwalk back to MCVI for the race finish.
There’s also a long out-and-back stretch along Court Street, which takes runners through the residential neighborhoods that lead up to Arthur Hill High School, which is mostly flat and fast.
