With a variety of running events that appeal to all ages and abilities, you’ll find that the Probility Ann Arbor Marathon is your ideal early-spring race, whether you’re walking your first 5K or running your 50th marathon.
Set for its annual running here at the home of the University of Michigan, the Probility Ann Arbor Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K & 5K runs along a point-to-point course that starts and finishes on the UM campus and features views of the city’s downtown as well as stretches along the winding Huron River.
If you’re a college football fan, the starting line is likely to be quite familiar to you — it’s near the northwest corner of the University of Michigan Wolverines football stadium on Main Street, also known as the “Big House.”

If you’re a college football fan, the starting line is likely to be quite familiar to you — it’s near the northwest corner of the University of Michigan Wolverines football stadium on Main Street, also known as the “Big House.”
From there, the course for the full and half marathon share the same route for the first mile; shortly after the first mile, those running the half marathon turn right to head south on State Street, where they’ll run an out-and-back stretch south and then north again on State before turning right again onto University Avenue.
Those running the full skip the State Street turn and instead head east on University, and then join Geddes Avenue for a stretch that takes them past the Forest Hill Cemetery and Nichols Arboretum.
Runners in the half marathon head back along University through downtown Ann Arbor and then onto tree-lined Washtenaw Avenue, where they’ll run a long, out-and-back stretch (with some hills), which turns more residential the further away you get from downtown.
When Washtenaw nearly converges with Stadium Boulevard, the course reaches the turnaround point and heads back northwest, taking runners along the route they just ran all the way back into downtown Ann Arbor.
The next stretch of the race brings runners into the second half of the half marathon, along South University Avenue and then south on State Street, back through campus and then south toward the athletic stadiums and facilities.
Runners cross the finish line on Main Street, between Liberty and William Streets.
