Are you looking to add something new to your running experience? How about unique scenery? We welcome you to run with us in Finland! The highlight of the Finnish running season is the Paavo Nurmi Marathon.
The marathon is named after the legendary Finnish long distance runner Paavo Nurmi, the Flying Finn, and takes place in his hometown, the beautiful city of Turku. Turku is a historical seaside town, with an amazing archipelago and nature.
Experience the history of the city, the beauty of Ruissalo Island and the heartbeat of the Aura River! The marathon offers you a choice between 10k, half marathon and full marathon distance, so just pick your favourite and join the fun with 4000 other runners. After the race, changing rooms and showers are located at Samppalinna's swimming facility, which is open to participants from 12 pm to 7 pm. After the finish there is a drinks station serving water and Maxim sports drinks.

Minimum 18 years of age.
Medallas de finalización
All finishers will receive a finisher’s medal.

Participants can store their things at cloakroom, which is located behind the city theatre building.
Tiempo máximo
The maximum running time for the marathon is 6 hours. The organisers have the right to remove any runners from the course who have not passed the halfway point after three hours. The maximum running time for the half marathon is 4 hours. The maximum running time for ten kilometres is 2 hours.
Estacionamiento
There are few large car parks in the city centre. Other events and normal Saturday traffic mean that the centre will be busy. Good places to park are: All car parks in the city centre. We recommend arriving early to make sure that you find a parking spot. Maps of the area surrounding the sports grounds can be found e.g. here. Please note that the route from Itäinen Pitkäkatu over Samppalinna hill to the Aura river bank will be closed from the morning of the event onwards. The car parks located near Valtion virastotalo, Turku City Theatre and Samppalinna swimming pool are NOT at runners’ disposal.

Refrigerios
The drinks provided at the Paavo Nurmi Marathon are water and Maxim Sports Drink. It is a good idea to get used to the orange-lemon flavoured sports drink during training. On the second lap of the marathon there will also be oranges, bananas and gherkins available at drinks stations, among other things.
Cronometraje
At the event, the timing system and results service UltimateSport Service is in use. Interval times will be measured at two different locations. The specific distances for the interval times will be advised with the results. The results will be published on Ultimate's website.
