The Mekong Half Marathon brings runners to the riverside streets of Vientiane, following sections of the Mekong River that separates Laos and Thailand. The course combines wide roads, open river views, and the slower rhythm of one of Southeast Asia’s quieter capital cities. Diff races are available across levels, making the event suitable for both experienced runners and first-time participants. The race atmosphere is relaxed compared to larger Asian marathons, with a growing mix of local and international runners. Along the route, runners experience landmarks, riverside gathering areas, and the laid-back energy that defines Vientiane.
