Meconopsis Trail is a high-altitude trail running event set in the spectacular Siguniang Mountain range of Sichuan, China. Known in Chinese as Siguniangshan “Cloud Blossom Trail”, the race serves as the Grand Final of the Salomon Golden Trail Series China.
Taking place at elevations ranging from 3,250 to 4,603 meters, the event is held during the peak blooming season of Meconopsis (Himalayan blue poppy). Runners traverse alpine trails where snow-capped peaks emerge through drifting clouds, lakesides are carpeted with wildflowers, and narrow mountain paths weave through pristine highland scenery—creating a truly dreamlike “trail in the clouds.”
The race is characterized by its technical yet runnable short- and middle-distance courses, making it a signature event that blends elite competition with immersive alpine beauty. Meconopsis Trail offers a rare opportunity to experience world-class trail running amid one of China’s most iconic mountain landscapes, where altitude, nature, and performance meet at the highest level.
