Käringsund Triathlon, held annually since 2009, is an inclusive event designed to accommodate participants of all ages and fitness levels. The primary goal is to create an event where the distances are not a barrier, allowing both beginners and experienced athletes to enjoy the thrill of triathlon.
Whether you're young or old, a seasoned athlete or just starting out, Käringsund Triathlon offers a welcoming atmosphere for everyone. The event includes individual starts for all age groups, with categories for both competitive athletes and those looking to participate for fun and exercise.
The event will kick off on Friday with both relay and individual starts. Saturday will be dedicated exclusively to individual starts, making it a perfect opportunity for everyone to challenge themselves and experience the joy of triathlon. Come join us and be part of this wonderful celebration of sports, community, and togetherness!

When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
Käringsund on Friday 23.8. 16:00-20:00 and on Saturday 24.8. from 08:00.
What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
The registration for the competition is binding, the registration fee will not be refunded if you can´t participate in the competition. If canceled by 27.7.2025, your participation can be moved to the following year’s competition. Until 19.8.2025 it’s possible to change distances/ classes (no possible difference will be refunded), or transfer the participation to another participant.
Drafting rules
Drafting is allowed with road bikes, other non-drafting!
Wetsuit
Wetsuit is compulsory when: • the water temperature is below +17 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperature for the race is +13 degrees Celsius. Wetsuit is forbidden if the water temperature in the farthest point of the course in 60cm depth is: • +22 degrees Celsius/1500 m and under (ETU and ITU Elite 20), • +23 degrees Celsius/1501-3000 m, • +24 degrees Celsius/over 3000 m.
Cycling clothing
Torso: shirt or equivalent, bottom: at least swimming trunks or swimming suit. The helmet is obligatory and it must be securely fastened at all times during the bike leg and also in the transition areas when touching the bike. The helmet is always worn and it is locked before taking the bike from the bike rack and opened after the bike is set back on the rack.
Running clothing
Torso: shirt or equivalent, bottom: at least swimming trunks or a swimming suit.
