Acerca de Fargo Marathon

That’s right… 2016 marks Year #12 for the Fargo Marathon, and Running and Rocking is back!  In 2011, over 20,000 participants rocked and ran one of our six weekend events and in 2012, over 24,000 participants rocked out in Fargo! And now it’s time for the 2013 Tour!   Bands at EVERY mile and a Post Race Concert Blast to finish your FARGO EXPERIENCE in style! The Fargo Marathon is best described as Flat, Fast, Friendly & Fun… with an emphasis on Friendly & Fun! The recipient of the Runner’s World Reader’s Choice Award as the #1 Best Value Marathon in America and the 8th Best Overall Marathon in America (January 2010)!  We’re proud of this honor, but NEVER stop trying to improve; our goal is to give you the best marathon weekend possible. The “home” for everything is the FARGODOME. Here is where you will pick up packets, register, eat pasta & lefse, take in our terrific expo, listen to awesome speakers, start your race and finish your race! This is one large loop of a race, so no “point to point” event, so there are no long bus rides.  There is plenty of parking and seating for all participants and spectators. Everything begins with the Swanson Health Fitness Expo, which is held at the FARGODOME.  The Expo and Packet Pick-Up opens on Thursday of the Fargo Marathon Week.  Join over 80 national and regional vendors will be there with the latest and greatest in running apparel, shoes and souvenirs.  For more information, visit Swanson Health & Fitness Expo. The weekend’s races also kick off on Thursday night with the famous Fargo Youth Runs which boast over 2500 kids from all over running either a ½ Mile or 1 Mile race for fun!  The youth runs will begin on Thursday evening of the Fargo Marathon Week. For more information, visit Fargo Marathon Youth Run sponsored by Otter Tail Corporation and Essentia Health. The Expo and Packet Pick-Up reopens again on Friday of the Fargo Marathon Week and will continue until 9 pm that evening. Friday evening comes alive with the Johnny Carino’s Pasta Feed and Freddy’s Lefse Lefse Feed, which runs from 4:00pm to 9pm. We will have three Pasta/Lefse Feed Seatings, and each one will feature keynote presentations. Finish up Friday night in style with the huge Friday Night 5K sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota.  Last year, over 6500 people made this one of the largest 5Ks in the upper Midwest and we topped that total in 2012 with 9500 5K runners!  The finish line of the 5K Run/Walk will also be rocking with Live Band performance to help you celebrate your race!  Don’t forget….If you’re up for the Go Far Challenge, then you can get in the 5K that night and take in one of the Saturday races below!  For more information regarding the 5K race, visit BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD OF NORTH DAKOTA 5K. The FARGODOME will open early on Saturday morning of the Fargo Marathon Week, giving you a place to warm up and stay out of the elements, if needed.  For more information on Saturday's race events, visit the race week's Schedule of Events. The Fargo Marathon is in it's 12th year of running in 2016! We introduced the Indoor Start & Finish in 2015, and it was such a huge success, we are bringing it back in 2016! After your race, you can meet up with your friends and family inside the FARGODOME while taking part in our Finish Line Food Fest.  Replenish those muscles with everything from soup to nuts (literally), shower up at the finish line locker rooms, check out your results instantly at our online results table, and cheer on the rest of the finishers. Stay tuned to this site as we finalize our Post Race Concert Festivities! The rest of this website contains the specific information for which you are looking, so please take your time and explore what it has to offer. We are anxious to be your host.. .FARGO ROCKS again in 2013!
