In keeping with the Charlotte area’s NASCAR roots, the Novant Charlotte Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K offer the chance to run through one of the Southeast’s greenest, most scenic cities, on a race that starts with a green stock car racing flag and ends with a waving checkered flag. Formerly known as the Thunder Road Marathon & Half Marathon, the event was renamed the Charlotte Marathon & Half Marathon in 2016 to reflect the love of the city.
