Über Volcano Art Center Rain Forest Runs

Runners will get to experience both dramatic scenery and the chance to run through the hills and rain forests above the town of Volcano on the big island of Hawaii at the Volcano Arts Center Rain Forest Runs Half Marathon, 10K and 5K Run/Walk.

The race is organized and sponsored by the Volcano Arts Center, a Kilauea-based nonprofit organization that preserves and promotes the unique cultural and artistic heritage of the Hawaiian islands and their people.

Runners will experience the quaint village roads through the beautiful native rain forest and ranch lands with stunning views of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa in the distance.

The event is part of the Triple Crown Hawaii series, which also features Kona Marathon and the Big Island International Marathon.

PRAKTISCHE INFORMATIONEN

Versorgungsstationen

Aid stations are located every 1 to 1.25 miles – stocked with water, ice and an electrolyte drink. There will be portable toilets at every aid station on the Race Course and public restrooms at Start/Finish area.

Auszeichnungen

Medals for Half Marathon Finishers. Top three male and female finishers will be awarded as well as the top two male and female in each division.

There are many designated parking areas within walking distance of the start/finish area.

The race will feature plenty of stunning scenery, including views of nearby Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea, as well as the volcano known as Kilauea, which is one of the world’s most active volcanoes and draws tourists year-round to watch its active lava flows.

All runs start and finish at Cooper Center on Wright Road in the heart of Volcano Village and traverse the quaint village roads through the beautiful native rain forest and ranch lands with stunning views of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa in the distance.
