Join Vietnam Jungle Marathon 2024
The Vietnam Jungle Marathon unfolds in the breathtaking Pu Luong Nature Reserve. This preserve is a haven for ancient jungles, majestic limestone peaks, lush rice paddy fields, and quaint ethnic minority villages where life continues as it has for generations.
Connected by picturesque trails featuring flowing downhills and demanding climbs, the area’s remote villages offer an exhilarating challenge. On your journey, you'll encounter buffaloes and minority community members, though in some of the more isolated stretches, the only people you'll see will be fellow runners. This race provides a rare chance to explore some of Vietnam’s most secluded locales.
At the finish line in Ban Hang Race Village, you'll experience a unique running party atmosphere. Participants can spend the entire weekend here, enjoying authentic stilt house accommodations alongside companions and soaking in the essence of a truly distinctive trail running village.
Course details
Our 70km offers an ultra distance route of extreme beauty. This is a very challenging ultra-trail Marathon with plenty of climbs and descents and gain of 2,850m. It will take runners through all of the landscapes that the Nature Reserve has to offer. Racers will start running with strong headlamps into the darkness from the start area in beautiful Ban Don village. You will first enjoy a loop around the ethnic minority houses here, before heading onto single track trail down into a broad valley.

Our 50km offers an ultra distance route of extreme beauty. The start area is in beautiful Ban Don village. Runners will first enjoy a loop around the ethnic minority houses here, before heading into great single track trail. A short jungle section will then lead you to another great descent down to the broad valley dotted with villages. Once down in the valley floor you will run among paddies and on mixed, runnable paths with amazing views all around.

The start area is in beautiful Ban Don village. Runners will first enjoy a loop around the ethnic minority houses here, before heading onto single track trail down into a valley where golden rice fields are surrounded by mountains. You will then take a trail north, deeper into the Nature Reserve on a section with lots of runnable trails and stunning views. This section is exclusive to 25k runners only.
10K
The VJM 12km is perfect for newer trail runners. You will see many of the beautiful landscapes of the famously stunning Vietnam Jungle Marathon trails, but you will not see the famously hard VJM climbs!

Can someone collect my race pack for me?
No. All runners must pick up the race kit yourselves.
Can I change the distance after I purchase a ticket?
To change distances a VND 450,000 (~USD 20) administration fee must be paid. Participants who wish to change to a longer distance must also pay the extra amount for the new distance. No refunds are available if changing to a shorter distance. No change of distance within 1 month (30 days) prior to the race date or after sold out. Changing distance to 10km policy: VND 450,000 (~USD 20) admin fee must be paid. Full refund of the price difference for changes 3 months (90 days) or earlier prior to the race date. Refund 50% of the price difference for changes within 3 months to 1 month (90 days to 30 days) prior to the race date.
What is the cancelation/refund policy for this event?
Entries cannot be transferred to subsequent years in any cases. The only exception is if you are pregnant – please see below. Full refund: You can get a refund of the total payment minus VND 1,150,000 (~USD 50) administration fee if you advise us and confirm by email 3 months (90 days) or earlier prior to the race date. 50% refund: You can get 50% refund of the total payment if you advise us and confirm by email within 3 months to 1 month (90 to 30 days) prior to the race date. For total payment less than VND 2,300,000 (~USD 100), you can get a full refund of the total payment minus VND 1,150,000 (~USD 50) administration fee. No refund: No monetary refund if you advise us less than 1 month (30 days) prior to the race date or do not show up at the race.
