Join Vietnam Jungle Marathon
Welcome to Vietnam Jungle Marathon offering 10km, 25km, 50km, or 70km of ‘wonder trails’! The race takes place in Pu Luong Nature Reserve. Home to ancient jungle, soaring limestone peaks, vibrant rice paddy fields and small ethnic minority villages, life here goes on as it has for generations.
The area’s remote villages are connected by stunning trails with flowing downhills and challenging climbs to conquer.
You will share the route with buffaloes and people from the minority communities, although on some of the more remote sections you are not likely to see anybody except other runners. This race is an opportunity to discover seldom visited parts of Vietnam. VJM offers a special running party atmosphere at the finish line Ban Hang Race Village. You can also stay here for the whole weekend enjoying authentic stilt house accommodation together with your fellow runners and enjoy the feeling of a truly unique trail running village!
Course details
This is a challenging ultra-trail Marathon with plenty of climbs and descents interspersed with runnable flatter sections. A lot of our runners name this as their favourite course, not only for its beauty, but for its mix of terrain, providing good sections of trail running on the flats and the downs, alongside the more challenging uphill sections. The course takes runners through all of the landscapes that the Nature Reserve has to offer. The race begins in beautiful Leo village with a loop around the ethnic minority houses here. After some trail climbing you will enjoy some awesome, runnable downhill single-track sections bringing you to a stunning valley with mountains all around. You will pass through more small minority villages bringing you to a feature unique to our race: a bridge we create just for our runners, using a series of big, bamboo rafts.
50 km
Our 50km offers an ultra distance route of extreme beauty. The start area is in beautiful Ban Leo. Runners will first enjoy a loop around the ethnic minority houses here, before heading into great single track trail. A short jungle section will then lead you to another great descent down to the broad valley dotted with villages. Once down in the valley floor you will run among paddies and on mixed, runnable paths with amazing views all around.
25 km
The start area is in beautiful Ban Don. Runners will first enjoy a loop around the ethnic minority houses here, before heading onto single track trail down into a valley where golden rice fields are surrounded by mountains. You will then take a trail north, deeper into the Nature Reserve on a section with lots of runnable trails and stunning views. This section is exclusive to 25k runners only.
10 km
The VJM 12km is perfect for newer trail runners. You will see many of the beautiful landscapes of the famously stunning Vietnam Jungle Marathon trails, but you will not see the famously hard VJM climbs! You will run during rice harvest season so the fields will be alive with activity and full of golden rice.

Can someone collect my race pack for me?
No. All runners must pick up the race kit yourselves.
Can I change the distance after I purchase a ticket?
To change distances a VND 450,000 (~USD 20) administration fee must be paid. Participants who wish to change to a longer distance must also pay the extra amount for the new distance. No refunds are available if changing to a shorter distance. No change of distance within 1 month (30 days) prior to the race date or after sold out. Changing distance to 10km policy: VND 450,000 (~USD 20) admin fee must be paid. Full refund of the price difference for changes 3 months (90 days) or earlier prior to the race date. Refund 50% of the price difference for changes within 3 months to 1 month (90 days to 30 days) prior to the race date.
What is the cancelation/refund policy for this event?
Entries cannot be transferred to subsequent years in any cases. The only exception is if you are pregnant – please see below. Full refund: You can get a refund of the total payment minus VND 1,150,000 (~USD 50) administration fee if you advise us and confirm by email 3 months (90 days) or earlier prior to the race date. 50% refund: You can get 50% refund of the total payment if you advise us and confirm by email within 3 months to 1 month (90 to 30 days) prior to the race date. For total payment less than VND 2,300,000 (~USD 100), you can get a full refund of the total payment minus VND 1,150,000 (~USD 50) administration fee. No refund: No monetary refund if you advise us less than 1 month (30 days) prior to the race date or do not show up at the race.
