Popular among vacationers for its plentiful skiing and snowboarding opportunities in the winter and its relaxed pastoral setting for camping, fishing, golf and nature and wildlife viewing in the summer, the area offers a wide range of recreational activities to take part in before and after the race. Along the race route, runners will have the chance to run through four covered bridges along the back country roads of rural Vermont.

This is a challenging point to point course that starts at the Lyndonville Town Offices and finishes at the St. Johnsbury School. There is almost 3,000' of elevation change (1,440ft up and 1,519ft down with several long climbs. 60% of the course is on dirt roads. The course change this year will take runners up College Road and onto Lyndon State's South Campus Drive. This is a steady 1 mile climb before descending McGoff Hill Road crossing South Wheelock Road and back onto the original course at York Street. For relay runners the hand off is just past the 7 mile mark on Elliott Road.
