Start - "The same procedure as every year" – start in Deutz in front of Otto Square (Ottoplatz)
km 1 - Deutz Bridge (Deutzer Brücke) with panoramic view at Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom) and the Old Town (Altstadt)
km 2 - Rheinauhafen including Chocolate Museum (Schokoladenmuseum) and Sport and Olympia Museum as well as the architecturally unique crane houses (Kranhäuser)
km 5 - Bayenthal with Bismarck Pillar (Bismarcksäule) as the turning point
km 9 - Finally in the southern part of town (Südstadt) again. Passing Severinstorbogen over Severinstraße. Nice!
km 11 - Rudolf Square (Rudolfplatz) for the FIRST time! Not without cause you will pass this square three times
km 15 - Sülz and Sülzburgstraße – it could not be more Cologne-style!
km 17 - Lindenthal and Dürener Straße - Cologne's "Kö"!
km 19 - Cologne's celebs lie at Melaten Cementery (Melatenfriedhof) and the sun bathers lie at Aachen Pond (Aachner Weiher) in summertime
km 20 - Rudolf Square for the SECOND time! Over Hohenzollernring to Frisian Square (Friesenplatz). Cologne Marathon's heart! - a mass of people, a feeling like in Alpe d'Huez!
km 23 - Multicultural life in Ehrenfeld: For some years omitted and now back again – Venloer Straße and the new mosque in sighting distance to the television tower
km 31- Nippes took a perennial time-out. But why that? Neusser Straße is there!
km 40 - Rudolf Square for the THIRD time! And now with spectator motivation to the last kilometres!
km 40,5 - Espaliers of people and shouting and cheering also at Neumarkt, the after-run location
km 42 - Finish at Cologne Cathedral! Over Hohe Straße passing thousands of spectators and Cologne's landmark you will finish at Komödienstraße.
