Race to Robie Creek
Join Race to Robie Creek
Some know it as the long climb to Aldape Summit. Others see it as a “rite of spring” that arrives each year in the Boise foothills. It has been proclaimed “The Toughest Race in the Northwest". But no matter what label you put on it, the annual Race to Robie Creek is a 13.1 mile challenge to all who dare to participate.
The Race to Robie Creek Half Marathon lives up to its reputation with a steadily climbing rise in elevation from the first mile all the way to the 8.5-mile point in the race, by which point runners should feel completely exhausted, and for which they need to be sufficiently trained and prepared.
While slow and steady, the rise in elevation throughout the race is also significant — the starting line is at just above 2,500 feet above sea level, and runners reach an elevation of about 4,700 feet above sea level at the highest point in the race, as participants trek through the sagebrush-covered hills area known as Rocky Canyon.
This is not a walk in the park, but you can walk the steep, you will not be alone.
