Anchorage Mayor's Marathon & Half-Marathon

Join Anchorage Mayor's Marathon & Half-Marathon
Nearly 4,000 runners and walkers will travel to run the scenic trails of Anchorage at the annual summertime Mayor’s Marathon and Half Marathon. The event is timed to coincide with the summer solstice, when the longest day of the year brings 22 hours of functional daylight to the city. The event also has a four-person marathon relay, 5-miler and Youth Cup.
Organized by the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) and Anchorage Parks & Recreation, five running races are held simultaneously – including the Marathon (26.2 miles), Half Marathon (13.1 miles), Marathon Relay (4 × 6.5 mile legs), Four-miler, and Youth Cup (1.6 miles).
Cash prizes will be given for any men’s or women’s course records broken in both the marathon and half-marathon events.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s “Team in Training” program has been sending runners to this event since 1994, which has helped the Mayor’s Marathon and Half Marathon to grow and to attract top runners from outside of Alaska. Learn more about “Team in Training.”
