Cheltenham Circular Challenge

Join Cheltenham Circular Challenge
The Cheltenham Challenge, the only off-road event for runners or walkers that takes runners on a scenic course following sections of the Cheltenham Circular Footpath, Cotswold Way and Winchcombe Way. It is held in Cheltenham, United Kingdom.
The course is a hilly, multi-terrain loop taking runners through town and countryside. Some consider it to be the most scenic marathon in the UK.
Starting and ending at Cheltenham Racecourse, the multi-terrain route presents fabulous views and challenges for all who take part – whether you chose to run, walk or take your dog. The route follows public footpaths through glorious Cotswold countryside, offering participants the choice of a 5k, 10k, Half Marathon, Full Marathon or Ultimate challenge, plus the chance to raise money for great causes.
Course highlights
The Full Marathon follows the same route as the Half Marathon but consists of two laps of the 13.1 mile route. The terrain starts fairly level for the first 3 miles, passing through Prestbury village and heading towards Hewletts Reservoir. Then there is a long tough climb up to join the Cotswold Way and Winchcombe Way before heading north across the top of Cleeve Hill. You will pass over the highest point in the Cotswolds. The route offers fantastic views over Cheltenham, the Malverns and glorious Cotswold countryside. Rejoining the Cotswold Way near the golf club, the route loops southwards along the edge of the escarpment before descending through a forest towards Southam. There is then a fairly flat run through farmland and Prestbury Village before heading back to the racecourse. Passing through the event village and the start/finish area, full marathon participants then carry on to complete a second lap of the course. There is approximately 760m of ascent on the marathon route.Bewertungen
