Über Big Lake Half Marathon

This state’s famed Lakes Region is the setting for the Big Lake Half Marathon, which takes between 800 and 1,000 or more runners every year on a tour of the shores and hills of Lake Winnipesaukee, the largest lake in New Hampshire.

Bordered by the nearby White Mountains and Ossipee Mountain Range, the course for this point-to-point race starts at the Alton Central School and makes a narrow loop along the lake, passing by sights such as Sandy Point, Pumpkin Point and Mt. Major Park, and finishes a little over a mile from the starting line at Shibley’s.
