The Alpe Adria Winter Ultra features a challenging snow trail race, set against the stunning backdrop of the Julian Alps. Participants will navigate steep climbs through ancient forests, culminating at the summit of Mount Lussari. This event is designed for both seasoned trail runners and newcomers, offering scenic routes that showcase the beauty of the region. Refreshments and post-race goodies are included, making it a comprehensive experience for all participants.
Course details
Flat and with little altitude difference, suitable for the whole family, along paths in the upper Saisera Valley. Start and finish at Kyle Alpine Resort. Perfect for hikers of all levels and those who want to enjoy nature at leisure, also suitable for dogs.
Alpe Adria Winter Trail
Ascent to Rifugio Grego and descent along the forest road. Suitable for those looking for a short route but with an ascent in which to sweat, perfect for those who enjoy winter nature without facing excessive technical difficulties and with a non-demanding descent.
Alpe Adria Saisera Winter Trail
Combines Alpe Adria Kyle Trail and Alpe Adria Winter Trail: 10 km on snow are like 25 on normal terrain. A longer but accessible race with no technical requirements for the Lussari Winter Marathon, suitable for those who want to explore the mountains with a moderate challenge.
Alpe Adria Dogna Winter
We set off from Chiout, the last village in Val Dogna. The snow-covered road - beaten for us - climbs smoothly and scenically towards Montasio and Mangart to the Grego Refuge. Then down to the Polveriera di Valbruna: a unique crossing connecting two valleys along a stretch of road that is usually inaccessible. Shuttle service included.
