Originally established as a race in 2017, this unique event offers participants a thrilling point-to-point swim experience, traversing from the coast to the mountain, and from the sea to the river. Spanning a distance of 13km, it currently holds the distinction of being the longest estuary swim race in the UK. A particular highlight is its astonishing course record of 1 hour, 37 minutes, and 58 seconds, achieved by Hannah Loughlin in 2019. Embodying a genuine adventurous spirit, this event follows an exciting A to B route, with the convenience of coach transfers included in your entry.
Course details
A remarkable point to point swim journey, and the longest estuary race in the UK.
Water temperature at the start will be around 17 degrees, and around 15 degrees at the finish.
This swim will be tide assisted. If you can swim consistently for 2.5 hours at a minimum of 3km/h in open water, and you have a sense of adventure, then you'll be suited to this swim.
All swimmers will be issued with GPS trackers, included in your entry fee.
These need to be carried in a tow float.
Skins swimmers must have prior experience of swimming for similar amounts of time in similar water temperatures.
