The organisers of the oldest race in the city will be the Sant Cugat del Vallès City Council, the Club Muntanyista Sant Cugat and RPM Sports.
A new, more urban route:
The return of the Mitja Sant Cugat comes with a new and more urban route. A circuit that will allow runners to discover the historical and emblematic corners of a city that also stands out for its parks and flowered roundabouts. The start will take place in Pla del Vinyet Avenue, next to the Auditorium, and the finish line will be in Plaça de la Vila, in front of the Town Hall.
The route will pass through the old town of Sant Cugat, passing in front of the Monastery and its emblematic bell tower. They will also run along Santiago Russinyol street and in front of the National Archive of Catalonia.
The entire route is flat and centred on the historic centre of the city, which the participants will have to run two laps accompanied at all times by the cheering of the local citizens.
In addition to the half marathon distance, there will also be two other distances of 5k and 10k. Around 3.000 runners are expected to take part in the three races.
A Universae Mitja Sant Cugat for everyone and a more sustainable race:
Sant Cugat del Vallès has always been known for being an inclusive city committed to equality. That is why, this time through sport, it will pay special attention and offer all possible resources to promote equality and participation of people with some kind of physical disability.
Likewise, one of the priority objectives of the Sant Cugat Half Marathon is to minimise the impact that the event may have on the environment. For this reason, measures will be applied to make it as sustainable as possible. Promoting the use of public transport, the use of electric vehicles by the organisers, controlling the acoustic impact, plastic-free refreshment posts, the use of recycled textiles, selective recycling and minimising the use of paper are some of the initiatives proposed by the organisers to be more sustainable.
