With live music before, after, and during the race, the Mississippi Blues Marathon promises to be exciting! The Mississippi Blues Marathon and Half-Marathon honors musicians who have made history over the years, as well as those who continue to shape the sound of the blues today.
With room for experienced and first-time racers, this marathon is not solely about running. The event is a huge street party filled with enthusiastic supporters encouraging their friends and family to complete the races.
The Mississippi Blues Marathon proves to be a fun, top-notch marathon atmosphere for all runners.
The 14th Annual Mississippi Blues Marathon will take place in downtown Jackson, Mississippi’s capital city. With live music before, after, and throughout the course, the Mississippi Blues Marathon proves to be one-of-a-kind. Since our inaugural race in 2008, our event has worked to showcase Jackson and the rich Blues history of the state, with a portion of proceeds going to the Blues Foundation and its efforts to support local Blues Musicians.
Challenge yourself with the marathon or half-marathon, or take things a little easier with our 10K or 5K. You can even create a team of five runners and tackle the course as a relay team. Four of you take on five-mile legs with the final runner going the 6.2 miles to the end.

Praktische Informationen
Service nach dem Lauf
Join us at the Art Garden of the Mississippi Museum of Art. We’ll have live music, fresh fruit, snacks, Jambalaya, cold Pepsi and Budweiser Beer. Post-race massages will be available in the community room of the Museum of Art. Look for the Massage banner to the left of the Museum entrance. Note: There is a minimal charge for massage at the 2021 event! There will be at least two portable restroom on every aid station on course as well as units at the start/finish line for your convenience!
Versorgungsstationen
Aid Stations are located roughly at every 2.0 miles through the course. Every Station will offer water and Gatorade Endurance, Energy Gels are offered at mile 6 on the half marathon route and at miles 16 and 18 on the marathon courses second loop. These locations will also host our live band performances along the route as well as our restroom locations on course!
Auszeichnungen
All finjshers receive a medal. Overall, Masters and Grand Masters places will be awarded three deep. Note: ALL AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN OUT UNDER THE AWARDS TENT IN THE POST EVENT AREA. THERE WILL BE NO AWARD CEREMONY FOR THE 2021 EVENT DUE TO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS IN PLACE! Age group awards will be given.
Maximale Zeit
There will a seven-hour time limit for both the marathon and half marathon. Runners on the course after seven hours will be allowed to finish unsupported. Aid stations, marshals and traffic control will be removed from the course at 2:00 p.m.
Parken
There is plenty of parking all around the start/finish area. Garage parking is available just steps from the starting line. The fee is $5 for the day. Enter the City Centre Garage from West St. or Pearl St. There are also lots across the street from the Convention Center/Expo and all metered parking downtown is free on weekends. There will be law enforcement officers in the start/finish area but please don’t leave valuables visible in your car during the race. Mississippi Blues Marathon, LLC is not responsible for damage or loss to personal property.

Every aid station will offer water and Gatorade Endurance. Clif Shot is offered at mile 8 on the half and at miles 8, 15 and 21 on the marathon.
Timing
Timing by Trinity Timing. Race Results will be posted and updated throughout the day on the front steps of the Mississippi Museum of Art, Next to the Food tent.

When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
Packet pickup will be available at the Expo for runners in all race categories on 26th of February 2021, 10:00 am – 7:00 pm. at the Mississippi Museum of Art | 380 South Lamar Street, Jackson, MS 39201. Expo packet pickup is strongly encouraged. Race day packet pickup will begin at 5:30 AM at the same location, for runners whose travel plans prevent them from attending the Expo.
Can someone collect my race pack for me?
Yes, a copy of the participants driving licence or ID is required.
