Course details
Starting in Downtown Long Beach, runners head towards the historic Queen Mary and then through Shoreline Village. After running next to the Pacific Ocean on the flat beach path, marathoners head through Belmont Shore toward Marine Stadium. Runners then complete a 5K loop around the California State University, Long Beach campus and with 6.2 miles to go, runners head back towards Ocean Boulevard for a fast finish and Finish Line Festival celebration.
Half marathon
You can see the Pacific Ocean for 90% of the half marathon course! The half marathon course combines spectacular oceanfront views, charming seaside communities, and the metropolitan feel at the start and finish. The highest elevation on the course is 45 feet. Starting on Shoreline Drive, the course passes the new Pike at Shoreline Village, crosses the Queensway Bridge and runs to the bow of the Queen Mary, circles back around the Aquarium of the Pacific, the Lighthouse at Rainbow Harbor, then back by Shoreline Village before heading down the beautiful beach path. You’ll close out your race running above the ocean along the bluff before closing out downhill into a cheering final straight of fans.
5K
The Aquarium of the Pacific 5K is a great way to take part in the Long Beach Marathon weekend and is the perfect distance for all abilities! Run or walk the 5K with friends and family, use it as a shakeout run for Sunday’s races, and enjoy the Aquarium of the Pacific’s exhibits, mascots and staff and volunteers cheering you on!
Bike Tour
Join the 18 mile Bike Tour! This UNTIMED, family-friendly event provides avid and leisure cyclists alike the opportunity to ride one of the most beautiful Bike Tours in Southern California. It is a safe, scenic and fully closed 18 mile course. Be a part of the marathon weekend experience with all the perks. Enjoy the sights of Long Beach on the Bike Tour with your friends and family!

When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
Friday, 12:00pm – 6:00pm Saturday, 10:00am – 4:00pm Location: Marina Green, 386 E Shoreline Drive, Long Beach, CA 90803 Bib pick-up is also available only for 5K participants on Saturday from 5:15am – 6:30am at Aquarium of the Pacific (100 Aquarium Way). Participants are encouraged to arrive early to avoid long lines when picking up their race bibs on race morning.
Can I change the distance after I purchase a ticket?
Yes, you can always switch race distances if there is still capacity in the event you are looking to switch into.
What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
All registration fees are non-refundable. This race, in accordance with management executives, city officials and local law enforcement has the authority to cancel any of the events for emergency purposes such as, but not limited to, inclement weather, a pandemic, or threat of terrorism. If such emergency conditions force cancellation, refunds cannot be provided. This policy applies to all registrants whether you are injured, have an unexpected family/business emergency, have a medical emergency, or anything else.
Can I defer my entry?
You may defer your entry to the 2026 event. Deferrals must be processed by the registration team and an administration fee of 50% of the 2026 registration fee will be charged. You will pay this fee when you register for the 2026 race. The deferral will expire after the 2026 event, and you will not be able to defer your registration again
