Join Il-Ġirja t'Għawdex by Run Gozo 2025
Have you ever been to the beautiful island of Gozo (Malta)? Now is the perfect time to combine a trip there with a run and feel refreshed, energized, and ready to go! Located in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, Gozo provides visitors with some of the most picturesque and idyllic scenes. With around 300 days of direct sunlight each year, the weather is ideal for running and seeing some of the best views Gozo has to offer. The Ġirja t'Għawdex by Run Gozo is a leading running event in Malta, and it has been taking place since 1977, making the the oldest organized road race in the Maltese Islands. It is completely organized by a dedicated team of volunteers who strive to make the event accessible to people of all abilities. We invite you to join us this April for the 49th edition of this beloved race and experience the amazing island of Gozo.

When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
Registered participants must collect their race pack which includes the race number, timing chip and goody bag on Saturday 19th April 2025 between 09:30am to 07:00pm, or on Wednesday 23rd April 2025 between 05:00pm to 07:00pm from Teamsport, Triq Dun Karm, L-Iklin, IKL9022
What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
The application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable from one person to another.
Time limit
The time limit for the Half Marathon race and 10K walkathon is 3 hours from start time. The time limit for the 10K Race is 2 hours from start time. No traffic management, marshals, water stations and other service including medical services will be available after this time limit along the route. The organisation holds no responsibility for runners who have exceeded the time limit and still continue to run/walk.
Transport
Transport can be booked at application stage and is only available for Sunday 27th April 2025. Details are as follows: From Mġarr to Xagħra: Athletes using transport from Mġarr ferry terminal to Xagħra Square must board the 05:45am ferry from Cirkewwa ferry terminal. Transport leaves Mġarr Ferry Terminal on arrival of the said ferry at approximately 06:30am. From Xagħra to Mġarr: Athletes can choose to book transport leaving Xagħra Square either at 10:30am, 11:30am or 12:30pm. Although we encourage all athletes and accompanying family and friends to use our provided transport, Public Transport is also available albeit with some deviations. The Public Transport will drop off passengers at the Ġgantija Temples which is situated within walking distance from the Start Line.
