Join World Athletics Road Running Championships Riga
The inaugural World Athletics Road Running Championships, which will take place on 30 September and 1 October 2023, in Riga, will be the most significant public sporting and athletics event in the history of the Baltic countries.
A flat, single-lap half-marathon course in the Baltics' largest city. All courses are traffic-free.
This unique global running festival, which will crown the world mile, 5km and half marathon champions, will see thousands of amateur runners from at least 100 countries competing alongside elite runners.
This will be the first time when any recreational runner who is ready for a challenge can register for any of the official mass races of the World Championships in Riga and earn a unique medal from the World Athletics Road Running Championships.

When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
You’ll be able to pick-up your bib at World Athletics Road Running Championships EXPO! When: Sep 29 – 30 Where: Hanzas Perons, Hanzas Street 16a, Riga Opening hours: 10 am - 8 pm (GMT +3)
Can someone collect my race pack for me?
Yes! Don't forget to bring a personal identification document and the registration confirmation letter with you - you will need to present them when picking up your start number. To avoid unnecessary congestion and to ensure that the number pickup line moves quickly, we will only issue up to 5 numbers per person.
How do I get to the race location?
Riga is not small, but everything is nearby! Best ways to reach World Champs' courses: Walk or run: If your distance's start line is close, walk or run there! It's eco-friendly, lets you exercise, and enjoy Riga's autumn scenery. Public transportation: Use it to conserve energy before the course. Find your route with Riga's public transport planner or Google Maps' route planning.
What is the cancelation/refund policy for this event?
Participation fees are non-refundable.
Can Russian and Belarusian runners register?
Condemning Russia's aggression in Ukraine, Russian and Belarusian runners will not be able to register for the World Athletics Running Championships in Riga.
