Wisconsin Marathon & Half Marathon

Join Wisconsin Marathon & Half Marathon
It isn’t a bird or a plane. It is 4,000 runners weaving through the streets of Kenosha for the 2016 Wisconsin Marathon, which calls itself “the cheesiest marathon”.
You won’t need x-ray vision to see the beautiful sites along Lake Michigan as you channel your inner superhero for a 26.2, 13.1, or 5k race throughout the cities of Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie.
You may need super strength to carry the famous Big Cheese Medal around your neck when you finish, but you can replenish your super powers with a beer and brat at the post-race party. The live music will help, too.
Course highlights
The Marathon and Half Marathon start near the corner of 54th Street and 1st Ave in downtown Kenosha, near the Kenosha Public Museum. Runners will run through Harbor Park and past several newly built homes and storefronts. After a quick run through downtown, the course will head south onto a four mile loop through residential neighborhoods, before returning downtown. The course will continue into Simmons Island Park, run along the lakefront, and head north to Carthage College before turning around and following the path back downtown. Once back into the residential area, the half marathoners will turn around and head back to Harbor Park for the finish, while the marathoners will continue south into the Village of Pleasant Prairie. While in Pleasant Prairie, runners will loop through the residential neighborhoods before turning around near the Prairie Harbor Yacht Club. On the way back, runners will get a chance to see several, unique beachfront houses. The final couple of miles will take runners back to Harbor Park, with a stunning final sprint along Lake Michigan’s coastline.评论
