Winnipeg surprises. Rising above the prairie, it’s a metropolis where you least expect it. Cultured, confident and captivating, it’s more than just a pit stop on the Trans-Canada haul, but a destination in its own right, with a couple of world-class museums and a wonderfully diverse dining scene. Wander its historic neighborhoods and lap up a vibe that enjoys being the butt of a Simpsons joke (’That’s it! Back to Winnipeg!‘) and revels in one of the world’s best fringe theater festivals.
This will be the backdrop of the WPS Half Marathon!!
We would like to welcome you back for the Annual WPS Half Marathon. We look forward to once again providing you the chance to create some great memories and enjoy Winnipeg’s outdoors!
Over the years our team of volunteers has been dedicated to providing a great running event but to also raise awareness and funds on behalf of the Canadian Cancer Society.
Join us in keeping her legacy alive as we meet again in May to run, walk, laugh, cry but finish the WPS Half Marathon.
Aid stations are located roughly every mile on the course. You will go through a total of 12 aid stations for the half marathon. Please feel free to discard any garbage within the aid station areas. We will clean up after you. However, it is imperative that you do not litter between aid stations. Any participant caught littering will be disqualified from our event.
Awards ceremony will commence at 11:00 a.m. at the Start/Finish area. Awards will be issued for the following: Top 3 overall male finishers and Top 3 overall female finishers. Everyone who crosses our finish line receives a finisher’s medal. You have earned it! This includes relay runners as well who receive a specially designed medal that breaks-away so you each have a piece to share.
The course is officially open from 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. We welcome all participants to our race, including walkers! It is very important to us that everyone who registers in our event crosses the finish line.
