This race has been described as running at its finest. This 50 mile course traverses through the  Mojave Desert on a paved and scenic course which covers rolling terrain. Commencing at an elevation of roughly 4500 feet, runners will experience high desert vegetation to include Joshua Trees, Pinion-Juniper, Mountain Rose, Sagebrush, and a relatively lush Toiyabe National Forest not commonly associated with Las Vegas. The road twists and turns thru the canyon; a true treasure of the Spring Mountains N.R.A.

Camping is available at the race venue, it is primitive and there are no facilities. Lodging is also available at: Holiday Inn Express and Suites, Mandalay Bay, The Luxor and South Point.


Finish line food will be provided.


All aid stations will have water and Hammer HEED (Electrolyte Drink- various flavors) available in cups, though aid stations will be happy to refill your water bottle, should you chose to carry one. Aid stations designated "ultra" aid stations will be provisioned additionally with fruit, sweet and salty snacks, basic first aid, ice, cold towels, Hammer Gel, and other provisions.


All finishers get medals. Awards will be something inspired by nature and/or the surrounding area and the theme of the race and will be given to Overall Male and Female winners for each event and Overall Grand Masters: 1st Place Male and Female winner.


50 Mile Runners may have 3 drop bags, accessed several times.

Parking will be at/ near the start/ finish line. All participants will park in the dirt lot off Sandy Valley Road and Highway 160. Please follow the parking volunteers' directions.


50 miler drop bags will be returned to the start line.


Lake Mead National Recreation Area

The course is an out and back on the very scenic Lakeshore and Northshore Drives and is run completely on pavement. This is an 11 mile stretch. You will run this out and back 2 times for a total of 44 miles, plus a final shorter out and back along the same stretch to complete the 50 mile distance.
