Course details
The Trail Ultra is a nature trail race with a distance of approximately 50 km that runs along trails, agricultural and forest paths and waterways in the municipality of Povoação. The race starts and finishes at the Marina of Vila da Povoação.
It is considered a competitive race, as there are classifications and prizes, and is suitable for more experienced athletes due to the technical, altimetric and mileage constraints of the race.
TRAIL
The Trail Sprint is a walking race in nature with a distance of approximately 30km that runs along trails, agricultural and forest paths and rivers in the municipality of Povoação. The race starts and finishes at the marina in Vila da Povoação.
It is considered a competitive event, as there are classifications and prizes. The event has a lower level of difficulty compared to the Trail Ultra in all aspects, technical, altimetric and mileage, so it is the event recommended for less experienced athletes.
TRAIL SPRINT
The main objective of the Trail Sprint is to promote healthy lifestyle habits, in parallel with competitive events. It covers a distance of approximately 15 km, starting in the parish of Remédios and ending at the Marina of Vila da Povoação.
This is a walking race in nature, with a distance of approximately 15 km and a positive elevation gain of approximately D+800, which runs along trails, agricultural and forest paths and streams in the municipality of Povoação. The race starts in the parish of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios and ends in the Municipal Garden of Vila da Povoação. It is considered a competitive race, as there are classifications and prizes. The race has a lower level of difficulty compared to the Long Trail in all aspects, technique, altitude and mileage, which is why it is the race recommended for less experienced athletes.
WALK
The main objective of the Walk is to promote healthy lifestyle habits, in parallel with the competitive events. It covers a distance of approximately 9 km, starting in the parish of Remédios and ending at the Marina of Vila da Povoação.
This is a walking race in nature with a distance of approximately 9km and a positive elevation gain of approximately D+350, which runs along trails, agricultural and forest paths and streams in the municipality of Povoação. The race starts in the parish of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios and ends in the Municipal Garden of Vila da Povoação. It is considered a competitive race, as there are classifications and prizes. How do I get to the race location?
Once you have arrived on the island of São Miguel or if you are a resident of the island, there are 3 ways to get to Vila da Povoação, although if you are going on the day of the race, you will have to go by car, as there are no buses that leave for Povoação, so you will have to arrive at the starting area by 8 am.
