Scout Mountain Ultras

Caribou-Targhee National Forest is located in the states of Idaho and Wyoming, with a small section in Utah in the United States. The forest is broken into several separate sections and extends over 2.63 million acres (10,600 km2). To the east the forest borders Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park and Bridger-Teton National Forest. Most of the forest is a part of the 20-million-acre (81,000 km2) Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. The Caribou-Targhee National Forest boasts rugged mountains, fertile valleys, rivers, varied wildlife, campgrounds, wilderness, adventure, solitude, and scenery enough to saturate your aesthetic cravings.

The Scout Mountain Ultra Trail will take the competitors on a very challenging tour of the Caribou-Targhee National Forest outside of Pocatello, Idaho. This is a difficult and beautiful race in the Bannock and Pocatello mountain ranges surrounding Pocatello Idaho. Previous editions of the race were known as the Pocatello 50 but due to course changes the event has evolved. The full course is 100 kilometers long (62.5 miles) with 12,700’ of vertical gain and 12,700’ of vertical loss.
