Set for its annual running this summer, the Patrick Henry Half Marathon takes runners on a scenic, out-and-back loop route through both downtown and the rolling countryside just outside Ashland, Va., for a race that sees more than 1,000 runners cross the finish line every year.
The race is part of the Richmond Road Runners Club’s Grand Prix series of races, and is organized by both the club and Sports Backers, a Virginia-based sports organization that puts together a wide range of races across the state each year.
Diamond Springs water and sports drinks at miles 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.
Overall male and female. Top-3 male and female masters. Top-3 in each age group: 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64 and 65-69 and 70 & over. Overall awards are determined by clock time; age group awards by chip time. All awards will be mailed out after the race.

Carpooling strongly encouraged! Since parking in Ashland is at a premium, participants are strongly encouraged to carpool to the race. Reduce congestion, save yourself some gas money and share the experience with your friends. These are all great reasons to all drive together.
