Pacifica Foothills Trail Run

The race takes place in San Pedro Valley Park which is nestled amongst the Santa Cruz Mountain range and the foothills of Pacifica and offers 1,150 acres of coastal mountain environment. As part of the San Mateo County Park system, it is part of 200 years of history that includes the Native American culture and the urban development of San Francisco. 

Longer distance runners will ascend the 1,900ft. climb of Montara Mountain North Peak and either pause to take a breath and appreciate views of the Farallon Islands and the exterior of Pacifica or turn without much thought outside of enjoying a long downhill trounce. Red Tail Hawks can be found spectating from the high branches of the abundant eucalyptus forest and during the rainy months of winter and spring, Brooks Falls is a spectacular sight as it drops 175 feet in three tiers that just may alleviate the feeling of heavy feet and aching quads.
