Check a sweater or other items at our Gear Bag Drop at the start line in Black Diamond and we will transport your bag and have it ready for your pickup when you cross the finish line at the Farmers Market. Our Alliance Church ladies are borrowing a brand-new, never-used cargo trailer from Bar T-5 Agra Services to move your stuff around!!! We would suggest Relay runners transport their own gear although the gear check is for everyone.

At the Millarville Racetrack finish area, we will have ample signage and a team of volunteers directing you to parking and to pre-race shuttle buses (participants only on the buses). At the start area, while there is parking behind Oilfields Arena, we would suggest you can better avoid traffic and congestion by looking at the ample street parking surrounding the Arena, the high school and the elementary school, then take a few minutes to walk over to the start area at the Arena. Please respect resident driveways when you park.

This is a beautiful, point-to-point course, starting in Black Diamond, heading south and then west through the beautiful Turner Valley golf course area, turning north on urban pathway that takes us into Turner Valley and then back towards Black Diamond. Finally, we’ll head out into the country, darting through breathtaking, big sky, prairie landscapes on Racetrack Road to finish at the Millarville Farmers’ Market as it opens for its 35th season.

Aside from brief, 100 foot gravelled stretches at KM 7.2 and another brief, less-than-2/10ths-of- a-km stretch at the finish, this run is entirely on regular pavement or “soft” pavement and/or paved pathways. Traffic will be eliminated or restricted on about 18.8 KM of the course.

You may see deer bounding beside you, there may be elk in the vicinity and you’ll see cows and horses along the way for sure. And, of course, as far as we can see, this is the only longer distance race in North America finishing at a large, fun-filled Farmers’ Market.
