Just Cuz Half Marathon, Pocatello

Join Just Cuz Half Marathon, Pocatello
The Just Cuz Half Marathon was started by a local resident who was looking for a tune-up race to train for Arizona’s Tucson Marathon in 2006. The race takes runners along the highways from the Caribou National Forest, a 3-million-acre protected forest area that stretches across the southeastern part of the state and touches its borders with Wyoming, Montana and Utah, to Pocatello’s Centennial Park.
Runners looking for a long, downhill half with a friendly, fun feel will feel more than welcome at Pocatello’s annual Just Cuz Half Marathon, which has grown from just four runners at its first running to a few hundred finishers a year every year.
Course highlights
The starting line lies at the area called Crystal Summit inside the Caribou National Forest.
From there, runners follow first Mink Creek Road and then the Bannock Highway for most of the race’s 13.1 miles, turning off Bannock and onto Grant Road between the 11 and 12 mile markers, just after passing by the Riverside Municipal Golf Course.
The race finishes at Centennial Park.
