关于 Ice Age Trail 50

The Ice Age Trail 50 was the first 50-mile ultramarathon in the Midwest. And now, many years later, it stands as one of the oldest, continuously running 50-mile races in the country. The Start/Finish area of the Ice Age Trail races is located at the Nordic Trailhead in the Southern Unit of the Kettle Moraine Forest. While the course tops numerous hills, none of them are extremely long or overly steep in nature, but they are incessant. The terrain consists of mostly single track dirt, rocky and tree rooted trail that runs through pinewoods, hardwood forests, and rolling prairie lands, a little bit of everything. The 50 mile course will be marked with YELLOW ground flags.

All Ice Age aid stations will be stocked with water, HEED and soda (Coke, Mountain Dew and Ginger Ale).A limited supply of Hammer Gels will also be available, but runners are encouraged to bring their own gels.

All 50 Mile finishers under 12 hours will receive a custom-made, 35th anniversary Ice Age buckle. All runners will receive a finisher’s award if they complete the course in the required time.

There are three drop bag sites for the 50-mile race: The Start/Finish (9 miles), Hwy 12 (18 & 26 miles) and Horseriders Camp (37 & 43 miles).
