Go Heritage Runs is an award winning series of fun runs organized across India at various heritage locations, all through the year. The runs are designed to be a vacation and a holistic experience that will make you explore the scenic beauty and cultural variety of our rich heritage.

Rated "Top 10 Scenic Marathons in India by Conde Nast Traveller India, GHR Hampi is part of the Go Heritage Run series. An untimed, fun run at the World Heritage Site of Hampi, this run will take you on a journey from the 1st century to the 14th century.

Go Heritage Run – Hampi: 21K Route

The 21K route in an out-and-back route through quiet village roads and some trails. It begins at Hampi Bazaar Street, which was once a bustling marketplace for traders and diamond merchants, and runners will traverse many temples and ruins along the way – the Virupaksha Temple dedicated to the guardian deity of the Vijayanagara Kings and featuring an exquisitely carved 50m high gateway, the Krishna Temple built by Krishnadevaraya in the 16th century to celebrate the conquest of Udayagiri which is in present day Orissa, underground Shiva Temple considered to be one of the oldest temples in Hampi, the Queen’s Bath, a 500-year old Indo-Islamic structure believed to have been used by the Vijayanagara royals – both kings and queens, Anegudi Gate, the entrance to the mythological monkey kingdom of Kishkindha and Vittala Temple which represents the highest achievement of art of the Vijayanagara Empire. 21K runners will turn around at the King’s Balance located just ahead of Vittala Temple and then retrace their path back to the Start Point.

Go Heritage Run – Hampi: 12K Route

The 12K route is a full loop across Hampi. It begins at Hampi Bazaar Street, which was once a bustling marketplace for traders and diamond merchants, and runners will traverse many temples and ruins along the way – the Virupaksha Temple dedicated to the guardian deity of the Vijayanagara Kings and featuring an exquisitely carved 50m high gateway, the Krishna Temple built by Krishnadevaraya in the 16th century to celebrate the conquest of Udayagiri in present day Orissa, the underground Shiva Temple considered to be one of the oldest temples in Hampi, the Queen’s Bath, a 500-year old Indo-Islamic structure believed to have been used by the Vijayanagara royals – both kings and queens, Anegudi Gate, the entrance to the mythological monkey kingdom of Kishkindha and Vittala Temple which represents the highest achievement of art of the Vijayanagara Empire. 12K runners will run along the rocky river bank of the Tungabhadra and

loop back to the Finish – Hampi Bazaar.
