Course highlights
From the starting line at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Center Presidential Library and Museum on 4th Street, the Half Marathon course takes runners southward along Buckeye Avenue, crossing a bridge the Smoky Hill River on the route toward Brown Memorial Park. Race participants run around the roads south of the park along 1935 Lane, and then return to Buckeye Avenue, where they continue running southward until they hit the turnaround point on Highway 15. Here, the course takes runners in reverse, heading back along 1900 Avenue and Hawk Road to Brown Memorial Park again, and then back across the river. Throughout the race, the course features gently rolling hills and many areas (especially once runners cross the river) with little scenery to speak of — in the more rural sections of the course, it’s mainly wide open spaces. Runners finish the race back where they started, at the Eisenhower Library and Museum on Buckeye Avenue. The Marathon runners will run the half Marathon course Twice.评论
