The course runs through many of the Bridges of Madison County and the beautiful, rural Iowa countryside. With thousands of feet of elevation gain, seemingly endless hills, and if it rains, some of the gnarliest B roads ever, this ultra will challenge runners of all levels. The “backroads” has something for everyone.
The distances offered include 100 mile, 100k, 50k solo and 50k relay.
Camping will be on a first come first serve basis. RV’s are not allowed, but tents (VERY LIMITED), will be allowed near the start/finish.
Several well-placed aid stations are located along the course stocking things such as water, Pepsi, Gatorade, Snickers and chicken broth.
Drop bags are allowed at the aid stations.
Runners in the 100 mile race must finish under 36 hours to receive official time and Hand Made Belt Buckle. Runners in the 100k must finish under 18 hours to receive official time and finishers award. Runners in the 50k solo must finish under 8 1/2 hours to receive official time and finishers award.

The 100 mile race will consist of three separate loops: Loop 1 – 100k course, Loop 2 – 50k course, Loop 3 – 10k course.
