Join Black Hills 100
The Black Hills 100, was created and is directed by local trail/ultra runners Ryan Phillips and Chris Stores. and is South Dakotas second ultra marathon. The races will be run on a portion of the Centennial Trail, a 111 mile ribbon of singletrack traversing the Black Hills of South Dakota. The race will start in Sturgis at Woodle Field/Track, and proceed 1.3 miles on the city bike path before connecting with the Centennial Trail. From the Ft. Meade TH, runners will follow the trail south and begin their climb into the Black Hills, eventually reaching the turnaround point and then returning to finish at Woodle Field/Track.
The 100M race starts at Woodle Field in Sturgis. The first mile follows the paved city bike path east to the Fort Meade trailhead. From there, the course takes to the Centennial Trail, which is mostly singletrack trail with a few sections that follow old logging routes (and one short section that follows brand new logging roads). In total the course is approximately 98% trail with only the first and last mile following the paved bike path. The 100 mile course will take runners to Silver City before turning around and heading back to Sturgis.
