Gazley Volkswagen Wellington Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k

Established in 1986, the Gazley Volkswagen Wellington Marathon has been Wellington’s favourite footrace for three decades. Based at the famous Westpac Stadium, the fast, flat, scenic route around Wellington’s spectacular waterfront creates an occasion for all age and ability. With a Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k, 5k and the Kids’ Magic Mile, there’s something for everyone. More than 5000 runners and walkers can’t be wrong. All events (Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, Kids Magic Mile) start and finish on the Fran Wilde Walkway in front of the Westpac Stadium. All events are out and back, although in the final 2.6k of all events the return journey is slightly different to the outward journey.

Every kilometre is marked sequentially on the outward journey. But on the return journey all events will count down the kilometres remaining. This is to avoid confusion between five different events on the same out and back route. All distances will be IAAF certified.
