The annual edition of the Lucca Marathon presents many novelties, especially for the road and the route that once again enhances the beauties of the city and its surroundings.

The Lucca Marathon, scheduled for late October, will be the fulcrum of this edition of Villa Bottini and the Urban Walls. Inside the villa there will be all the services for the marathoners and the secretariat where it is possible to register and withdraw the race packages. Another important venue for the event will be the bastion of San Salvatore where the starting and the finish line will be positioned.

The route is surely fast, suitable for its personal best, flat, paved road: it will wind up on the Lucca Walls and around them, go a few miles north but without ever climbing, will cross the Morianese, Sant Alessio and the historical village of Castello di Nozzano, then return to the medieval city of Lucca and its fantastic and green city walls.

The 30K will have the first 22 km coinciding with the Marathon. At the height of Monte San Quirico will divert into the fantastic River Serchio River Park, especially the natural landscape and the beaten white road.

A sporting event, therefore, that has many facets: cultural, promotional, social. This event has found its consolidated place within the event calendar.
