Shell Bay, Studland
The Jurassic Coast Line is well known for its spectacular views and challenging hills. Each day's route takes in a variety of terrain from coastal foot path to beaches and tracks. The exposed cliff sections allows runners to look back through 185 million years of time; dinosaur remains have been found here, and it’s a fossil-hunter’s paradise. With a more recent history of mining, shipwrecks and smuggling, this is a fascinating stretch of coastline. Runners may take in some of its most spectacular scenery, from the clear blue sea to the rugged cliffs and green hills inland, to the beautiful circular Lulworth Cove, as they continually climb and descend the steep hills of the Jurassic Coast.
The Challenge is an 'ultra trail run' over the world famous Jurassic coast line. Runners have to run 3 marathons in 3 days. The 3 races start at Charmouth, Portland Ferry Road and Lulworth Cove, following on from each other and ending at Shell Bay, Studland. Day one - Charmouth - Portland Ferry Road (HQ) Day two - Portland Ferry Road - Lulworth cove Day three - Lulworth cove - Shell Bay
