About Harmony Genève Marathon for Unicef

The Harmony Geneva Marathon for Unicef is arguably one of the most picturesque city marathon in Europe and unquestionably one of the fastest. In 2015, 50% of runners achieved a personal best. The course takes in the countryside nestled between mountains and the shore of Lake Geneva before finishing in the heart of the city in front of the famous Jet d’Eau.

And with the city named Europe’s Leading City Break Destination at the World Travel Awards for a second consecutive year, there couldn’t be a better reason to come and set your personal best in Geneva!

The race will start from Chêne-Bourg and can be accessed directly on the Genevan public transports (Transports Publics Genevois). Parking will also be available near the start area.

The race is open to all, licensed and non-licensed runners, who are at least 18 years old on race day.

PACE SETTERS
Pace setters will help you achieve your time objective in 3h, 3h15, 3h30, 3h45, 4h, 4h15, 4h30 and 5h.

Practicalities

Age Limit

Marathon: 18 years on race day. Half Mrathon 17 years on race day.

Maximum Time

Time limit : 6 hours

Parking

Parking will also be available near the start area.

Refreshments

Water, oranges, bananas, crackers, Isostar energy drinks (Long Distance Energy) and Isostar gels (Energy Booster, Energy Gel) will be available at every refreshment point.

Highlights

The marathon will provide the runners with a unique route of 42,195 km including the most beautiful landmarks of the city as well as Geneva’s historical and cosmopolitan centre and its magnificent countryside surrounding it. After a first part in the countryside in a stunning backdrop nestled in between the Jura’s crests and the Alpine summits, the participants will dive into the heart of the roads and discover the token monuments of Geneva (the water-jet, the flower clock, the Mont-Blanc Bridge…). They will then run along the Lake Geneva and will finally cross the finish line on the Pont du Mont-Blanc.

Half Mrathon

the Half Marathon offers a more urban route of 21,097 km in the heart of Geneva. The course is close to the water and allows you to run alongside the lake, the Rhone, but also gives you the opportunity to admire the inescapable Geneva Jet d’Eau!
