The Yading SkyRace, part of the 2026 Merrell Skyrunning World Series, takes place in the breathtaking alpine paradise of Daocheng Yading, Sichuan, starting from Xianggelila Town. This is a race through what feels like a National Geographic cover — running in the embrace of the sacred peaks Chenrezig (Xiannairi), Jampayang (Yangmaiyong), and Chanadorje (Xianuoduoji), passing the turquoise waters of Milk Lake and Five Color Lake, and traversing dramatic terrain from forest and alpine meadows to rugged scree slopes. With an average elevation above 4,000 meters and more than 2,000 meters of ascent over 30 kilometers, this is not only a physical challenge but a true test of willpower — a high-altitude badge of honor that will shine brightly in any trail runner’s career.
