The Lavender Road Ultra Walking Tour—also known as the Asahikawa to Furano Ultra Walking—is a 65 km point-to-point endurance walk across central Hokkaido. Starting in Asahikawa, the route passes through Biei before finishing in Furano, following one of Hokkaido’s most scenic corridors. The fully paved, non-technical course shifts the challenge to pacing, stamina, and mental control. With a 13.5-hour time limit and staffed checkpoints, the event delivers a structured ultra-distance test without technical barriers. Participation is capped at 300 walkers, keeping the experience focused and well supported.

Follow this scenic journey from Asahikawa to Furano, passing through five municipalities along the famous Lavender Road.
Stage 1: Asahikawa City – Urban Start (0–15km)
Start: JR Asahikawa Station (7:00 AM)
Begin in Hokkaido’s second-largest city, moving from city streets into rural areas.

Expected Time: 3–4 hours from Inari Park
Stage 3: Biei Town – The Scenic Heart (20–35km)
Biei is known for its beautiful hills and vibrant patchwork fields—ideal for photographers.
Features:
Rolling terrain with moderate climbs
Iconic overlook spots
Flowering fields (early lavender, late June)
Terrain: Continuous rolling hills, moderate difficulty
Expected Time: 3–4 hours in Biei
Stage 4: Kamifurano Town – Mountain Vista & Midpoint (35–50km)
Cross into Kamifurano at the midpoint—gateway to the Tokachi mountain range.
Features:
Panoramic views of Mt. Asahidake (Hokkaido’s highest)
Miyama Pass: Highest point on route
Second Aid Station: Café YAMAICHI at Miyama Pass (35–40km)
Stop for hearty curry, drinks, and a well-earned rest.
Recommended break: 20–30 minutes; perfect for photos.
After Miyama Pass, brace for the toughest section—steep ups and downs, constant changes in elevation.

7–10km left—finish line in sight!
Stage 6: Furano City – The Final Push (58–65km)
Descend into the Furano Basin for sunset views over the Yubari Mountains.

Terrain: Mostly downhill and flat
