"Run with the Himalayas" – The Kathmandu Marathon, established in 2007, offers a unique and inspiring running experience through the historic Kathmandu Valley. The full marathon route takes participants across the three ancient cities of Kathmandu, Patan, Bhaktapur, and Thimi, before circling back to the capital. Along the way, runners pass iconic landmarks such as the beautiful Durbar Squares, ancient temples, palaces, and centuries-old monuments. What makes this marathon truly special is the breathtaking view of the Himalayan mountains that accompanies you throughout the course, making it a perfect blend of culture, history, and natural beauty.
