Depuis la France, salutations très sincères aux amis marocains rencontrés ce week-end du 27 octobre 2024 à l’occasion de la 15ème édition du marathon de Casablanca. Arrivés vendredi de Toulouse avec mon épouse nous avons retrouvé sur place nos trois enfants arrivés eux, quelques heures plus tôt, de Paris. Notre fille cadette Fanny a participé au 10kms, notre fils Nathan a fait le Semi, quand à moi, j’ai couru les 42kms de mon premier Marathon. Toute la famille est d’accord pour dire que nous avons vécu un événement sportif magnifique mais surtout un séjour à Casablanca où nous n’avons été déçus par rien : tout était parfait. Merci aux organisateurs pour nous avoir permis de courir sur les plus belles avenues de la ville car on se doute que ce n’est pas facile de créer un parcours de 42kms dans un grand centre urbain comme celui-ci. Merci de nous avoir permis de découvrir quelques un des plus beaux sites et monuments libérés pour quelques heures de toute circulation automobile. Quelle réussite que ce départ et arrivée sur le boulevard Hassan II, à proximité de la place Mohammed V, de la tour de la Wilaya, du palais de justice et du magnifique parc de la ligue arabe. Que dire du parcours du marathon qui était superbe. J’ai adoré courir sous les palmiers du boulevard Moulay Youssef, j’ai adoré descendre sur le boulevard de l’océan et longer la plage Ain Diab, j’ai adoré courir sur le boulevard de la corniche et voir le minaret de l’imposante mosquée Hassan II grandir au fil de ma progression jusqu’à se dresser, immense, devant moi au kilomètre 21. J’ai adoré les encouragements de ma famille devant la gare de CasaPort puis au 41ème kilomètre, à l’angle du boulevard Moulay Youssef et du boulevard d’Anfa, lorsque ma fille ainée, Emma, a crié « Allez Papa » et que les policiers présents à ses côtés ont repris avec elle « Allez Papa ». J’en profite pour les remercier, ainsi que tous leurs collègues, pour avoir parfaitement sécurisé notre parcours car c’était un sans faute. Merci également à tous les casablancais pour leur patience et surtout à tous ceux, très nombreux, qui sont venus nous encourager. Merci bien sur à tous les bénévoles qui avec gentillesse et bonne humeur nous ont accueillis au village Marathon, nous ont guidés sur le parcours et nous ont assistés aux ravitaillements. J’ai particulièrement apprécié le ravitaillement sur l’avenue des FAR je crois, vers le kilomètre 25, où les dattes et les raisins secs étaient les meilleurs que j’ai jamais mangés. Pour finir, j’ai été ravi des rencontres faites avec d’autres concurrents au départ et pendant la course. Félicitations à tous les coureurs hommes et femmes, aux élites bien sûr qui ont fait des performances incroyables mais aussi à tous les autres. Voilà, encore merci à tous pour votre accueil et cette ambiance vraiment sympathique et vous aurez compris que nous ferons notre possible pour être parmi vous pour la prochaine édition.
