关于 Flagstaff Marathon

This the annaul Flagstaff Marathon, "The Coolest Marathon in Arizona". Hosted by Arizona Nordic Village to benefit the Angel Fund at North Country HealthCare.

Known already in just its relatively young history for its reputation as one of the most challenging, difficult marathon events in the Southwest, the Flagstaff Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K is an off-road/trail marathon event that takes runners into the rugged, mountainous terrain just to the north of the city, on trails rising into the San Francisco Peaks and the Kachina Peaks Wilderness areas.

No part of the course is run on paved surfaces -- 100% trail, sIngle and double track through the Ponderosa and Aspen trees.

If you’re from out of town save on costs, eliminate your race morning commute, and experience high-mountain summer camping. Yurt, hut and tent camping is available just yards from the start line at the Arizona Nordic Village. Please note that there are a limited number of yurt, hut, and tent sites available. Tent camping is available at special events only. All camping at the Nordic Village is available on a first come, first serve basis. There are other camping opportunities nearby in the Coconino National Forest.

The 6 hour, 30 minute time limit means race officials will stop the race at a 15:00 per mile pace. Participants still on the course at this time will be required to get back to the finish line. Participants who cross the finish line after 6:30:00 are not guaranteed to be recognized as Official Finishers and are not guaranteed a medal or finishing time.

No part of the course is run on paved surfaces — it’s a 100-percent off-road race. From the starting line at the Flagstaff Nordic Center on Highway 180 in the Coconino National Forest (15 miles northwest of the city), the race takes runners into the mountainous areas to the east, rising a total of 1,100 feet in elevation over the course of the half marathon.

The terrain is a mixture of single-track mountain trails, dirt roads and cross-country trails, and the course never drops below 8,000 feet above sea level.

For the half marathon race, the runner will complete each red and black loop shown below once. For the
full marathon, each loop will be run twice.
