About The Tri-Conic Challenge

Race the Train in Beautiful Port Alberni BC on Vancouver Island. Our Race features a 10k, 1/2 Marathon and Full Marathon Option with the 1ok being the primary 'Race the Train' feature. All three races start at the local Train Station in Downtown Port Alberni and all end at the McLean Mill National Historic Site where we'll have a Car Show, Beer Garden, Burgers and other foods for our Registrants and lots to do for the kids. All racers receive transportation back to Port Alberni by Train (or Bus if train is full). Both the 10k and 1/2 Marathon Start at 10:00am alongside the 1929 Baldwin Steam Train and 1.5 km away the 61st Annual Canada Day Parade will also start. The Parade will head south and will bypass the runners and the train as they head north.

Practicalities

Accommodation

Lots of Camping, hotels, motels and B&B's exist in the area. We are 1.5 hours from the Stunning West Coast communities of Tofino/Ucluelet

After Race Services

Beer Garden, Burgers, Children's area, Tours of the McLean Mill Canada's only Steam Powered Mill, Car Show, Transportation back by Steam Train or Bus

Short run for kids and includes a train ride. No other age restrictions
