About IAAF/Mikkeller World Cross Country Championships Aarhus 2019
Aarhus will be hosting the IAAF/Mikkeller World Cross Country Championships 2019 at Moesgaard Museum. And you can participate!
It will be a unique and wild event on the grassy, sloping roof of the Moesgaard Museum and in the nature area around the spectacular building. The 2K loop offers not only a trip up an down the roof of Moesgaard Museum, but also takes one through Mikkeller's own cheering tent, a club zone, a water passage, mud pit, sand pit, Viking Zone and much more.
For the first time ever, amateur/leisure runners are able to compete on an official WXC course and on the same day as the World Cup participants. The day starts out with the official IAAF/Mikkeller World Cross Country Championship in different disciplines which is for everybody to witness. Later, other amateur runners are able to participate in three different categories on the exact same route.
Full throttle on the World Cup course! Or an adventurous walk through the scenic route. The Sprint is for all the cool runners: Motivational runners and runners who just want to be quite close to the true World Cup experience. Children and adults of all ages (from 12 y.o. and up) are welcome to give their best effort on the 2K loop through a variety of obstacles.
Strong team spirit and high pace at a manageable distance are the keywords behind 4 x 2K The Relay – and the reason why this distance is one of the World Cross Country Championships’s absolute highlights. For the first time ever, you have the opportunity to play the lead role in World Cross Country Championships’s attractive and fun team discipline. Whether you want to gather your friends, family members, work collegues, or simply want to challenge yourself, The Relay offers 4 rounds on the 2K World Cross Country course.
The wildest from Cross Country and Trail Running in strong cocktail: We have stuffed straight doses of grass, mud, challenge zones, forest trails, dirt roads, craters, water passages and what our English cross enthusiasts call open woodland in a huge mixer - and now blended all the best from cross and trail. All of this in the middle of a bang of a World Cup!
The course takes you on the official 2K of the World Cup as well as 2K of trial run through the forrest.
