Join Dead Sea Marathon Israel 2025
The Dead Sea Marathon offer participants a unique running experience in areas they have never run in before. Running alongside ancient salt crystals, in front of the magical desert landscapes and on the eastern border of Israel.
The race, is being held for the fifth year, already has established itself as a "bucket list" race for runners from all round the world.
Last year's edition (2024) was sold-out, hosting 7,000 participants , For the 6th edition we anticipate the demand to be even higher.
Wide range of courses to accommodate all levels:
● 5km – a comfortable running and walking route for those who enjoy the running experience.
● 10km – running on the dike out to the sea and returning along the new Dead Sea promenade.
• 21.1 km Half marathon – fast and flat track, in the name of Tomer and Giora Ron.
● 42.2 km marathon - a flat marathon around the southern Dead Sea basin.
● 50km Ultra Marathon – The Israeli championship by the IAA (Israel's athletic association).
Unique - All runners will run straight onto the sea towards the border with Jordan, on a dirt embankment that has never been trodden on and which has been specially adapted for the use of marathon participants. All routes are circular, with minimum asphalt and maximum view (routes are mostly on a compacted flat gravel).
Jordan / Israel border - The embankment serves as the border area between the Israeli Dead Sea and the Jordanian Dead Sea and passes as a border without fence or barrier between the countries, which maintains a common and peaceful daily routine between the two sides. The event will be secured by security forces - police and army.
Special Permits - Due to security reasons, only once a year the race is granted the permits to use the dikes for sporting purposes, this gives the runners the opportunity to discover breathtaking views that have been observed only by security personnel or factory employees.
Race Highlight's
Vacation packages – especially suited for race's participants at the Marathon official hotel and variety of hotels in Ein Bokek, including packages for one night only. Many of the hotels offers well-being centers with spa and medical treatments.
Weather – February is the perfect time for a sunny vacation, 430 meters below sea level at the Judean desert.
Transportation service for runners - buses from Tel Aviv and Jerusalem for those interested in arriving on the morning of the race.
Jam packed weekend – lectures and panels, race briefing in English, yoga at sunset, after party on Friday evening and a recovery run on Saturday morning.

Frequently asked questions
When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
Race kit distribution booth will operate at the race’s EXPO on Thursday (The day before the race), 4pm-9pm, and on the morning of the race at the gathering area.
Can someone collect my race pack for me?
Yes, you need a copy of the runners ID and registration number.
How do I get to the race location?
The race is located in Ein Bokek a 2.5 hours drive from Tel Aviv. Race organizer offer coach service at the morning of the event from Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
Can I change the distance after I purchase a ticket?
Changing race distance is possible trough contacting race manager at [email protected].
What is the cancelation/refund policy for this event?
Service/participation cancellation request will be submitted only in writing, by email to [email protected]. Requests for race change can be submitted by January 1, 2024 subject to 50 nis handling fee. No requests will be considered after this date.
